i was hoping they had conveniently forgotten about CRONOS. it was one of the least appealing films i have seen in a long time. it reminded me too much of THE CITY OF LOST CHILDREN and anything by Gilliam, which i am alone in finding unstimulating. i seem to remember loving THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE and enjoyed PAN'S LABYRINTH, but am really not too anxious to see any of his other films in the criterion collection.

if they decide to add more sci-fi, horror, or (god forbid) fantasy films to the collection, i would hope they would go for more innovative and interesting fair. fare? fayre? stuff.
