TCM Remembering Ernest Borgnine By Hosting A 24 Hour, 10 Film, Marathon On Thursday

Just a day after the world lost iconic big screen legend Ernest Borgnine, the remembrances are still rolling in, and now, it’s TCM’s turn.

The network will be hosting a 24-hour marathon, featuring films like From Here To Eternity, The Dirty Dozen, The Wild Bunch and, of course, Marty. Also airing will by Private Screenings: Ernest Borgnine, a conversation between he and TCM mainstay Robert Osborne.

Starting at 6am EST on Thursday, the 10-film series will play honor to the legend, who passed away on Sunday at the age of 95. Proving that he was truly one of the big screen’s biggest and brightest legends, the lineup set up here should, itself, prove that there are very few filmographies quite as impressive and awe-inspiring as Borgnine’s was. It’s quite an extensive look into an actor that may be relatively unknown to most of today’s modern audience, but will hopefully have that changed thanks to this series.

5:15 p.m. ‘“  The Dirty Dozen  (1967)  ‘“ with Lee Marvin, Jim Brown, John Cassavetes, Robert Ryan, Charles Bronson, Donald Sutherland, George Kennedy and Telly Savalas.
