Alain Resnais Sets Up Cast For Next Film, You Haven’t Seen Anything Yet

88 is apparently the new 40, because French director Alain Resnais is still going strong, even at that relatively high age.

According to Ion Cinema, the French director behind such masterpieces as Hiroshima Mon Amour and Last Year In Marienbad, has tapped a massive cast for his upcoming film, Vous N’avez Encore Rien Vu, his follow to this year’s Wild Grass.

The outlet is reporting that Andre Dussollier, Sabine Azema, Mathieu Amalric (A Christmas Tale), Anne Consigny (who all starred in Wild Grass and aren’t new to the world of Resnais, have joined the film, along with Pierre Arditi, Lambert Wilson and Claude Rich.   Talk about a cast.

The film translates roughly to You Haven’t Seen Anything Yet, is set to retell the story of Orpheus and Eurydice, and is based on a script penned by Resnais and Laurent Herbiet, who wrote Wild Grass with him as well.   Personally, I can’t wait for this damn thing.   Sounding similar in a way to a film like Black Orpheus, this should prove to be a massively interesting take on that tale.   I know it’s one that I can’t wait to lay my eyes on.

What do you think?
