Alexandre Desplat To Score Wes Anderson’s Grand Budapest Hotel

wesandersonframed

Yes. Throughout his career, Wes Anderson has been known for assembling the greatest in great source track-loaded soundtracks for his various films. However, if Moonrise Kingdom proved anything, his work with composer Alexadre Desplat may be changing that.

Desplat’s score for that film was absolutely breathtaking, and now, he’s set to team back with the director once again.

Screen Daily is reporting that Desplat will score Anderson’s next film, Grand Budapest Hotel. Seeing Anderson teaming up with the likes of Tilda Swinton, Harvey Kei
tel, F. Murray Abraham, Mathieu Almalric, Edward Norton, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Murray and Owen Wilson, Hotel will also be produced by Scott Rudin and shot by cinematographer Robert Yeoman.

This news is really quite thrilling. Anderson seems to have been re-inspired following the brilliant Moonrise Kingdom, and Desplat’s score is every bit as good as the film it coincides with. He’s one of today’s greatest composers, so I can’t wait to see this duo get back in the saddle again.
