Andrea Arnold’s Wuthering Heights Goes To Oscilloscope; Trailer Arrives

With Andrea Arnold being a recent addition to the Criterion Collection (Fish Tank), one would imagine that Janus, or maybe even their best buds over at IFC would be trying their hardest to get any and every film from the director following.   However, while they may have tried to nab her latest film, Wuthering Heights, their fellow spine-number-loving rivals over at Oscilloscope beat them to it.

That’s right, according to IndieWIRE, the company has picked up the rights to Heights, with a plan to release the film during the 2012 calendar year. The film played at both the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals, to insanely positive buzz, making this easily one of the biggest winners from this fall festival season.

Personally, as a huge fan of both Arnold and something like Fish Tank, I couldn’t be happier with this news.   Oscilloscope is a great company, with their heads in the right places when it comes to the way they release their films. Overall, this is a hard story not to get really excited about.  And if you need any more proof, a brooding and atmospheric teaser for the hotly anticipated project has just hit.  Enjoy!
