Bruce Willis, Edward Norton And Many More Join Wes Anderson’s Moon Rise Kingdom

When your name is Wes Anderson, you can pretty much get whatever cast your heart desires.

And apparently that includes Bruce Willis And Edward Norton, among others, for his next project.

Deadline is reporting that Willis and Norton are set to join his upcoming film, Moon Rise Kingdom, and will be joined by Bill Murray, Frances McDormand and Tilda Swinton in the film, which will indeed be the auteur’s next film.

Moon Rise Kindom, a film penned by he and frequent collaborator Roman Coppola, is set to follow two adults, who ‘fall in love and run away. Leaders in their New England town are sticking to the dea that they’ve disappeared and go in search of them.’ Norton would play ‘a scout leader who brings his charges on a search,’ with Willis taking on the role of ‘the town sheriff who’s also looking, and who is having an affair with the missing girl’s mother’ who would in turn be the role played by McDormand.   Her husband would be Murray.

This is rather interesting news, particularly knowing Anderson, who is a director who likes to cast actors that he’s used in previous films routinely.   Toss in the fact that the film will be set in the 1960s, and you have a project that I think could be the live action breath of fresh air that Anderson’s last film, Fantastic Mr. Fox, was for the director (albeit in a new, animated medium).   At least one can hope, as this writer isn’t the biggest fan of Anderson’s last live-action effort, The Darjeeling Limited.

That all said, this is far and away one of my most anticipated projects coming up.

What about you?
