Charlotte Gainsbourg Joining Lars Von Trier’s ‘Nymphomaniac’

Talk about a great partnership.

Having worked with the auteur on a series of films (his last two features ‘˜Melancholia’ and ‘˜Antichrist’), Variety is reporting that Charlotte Gainsbourg is set to reteam with Lars Von Trier for the Danish lightning rod’s next film, ‘˜The Nymphomaniac.’

The film has been described as a film following the life of a woman until 50, looking into her life sexually, with Gainsbourg taking over the lead role.   This is interesting for a cavalcade of reasons, most of which being the fact that for some reason, Gainsbourg has found a way to be able to handle Von Trier’s style of filmmaking for multiple films, something no other female actor has been able to do.

Joking aside, this film is easily one of the most intriguing films currently going around, as it not only has one hell of a premise, but it will be interesting to see what Von Trier will do following his most intimate film, ‘˜Melancholia.’ Overall, hopes are beyond high for this project.
