Film Society of Lincoln Center Announces Free Film Talks This Summer

blingringframed

The best thing about this summer in New York isn’t going to be the beaches, beer gardens, or the weather. It’s going to be the free summer talks the Film Society of Lincoln Center is hosting through August! FilmLinc just announced the series that is an extension of the NYFF Live events they held during the 50th New York Film Festival last year.

Kicking off on May 16th at 8pm they’ll host a discussion with filmmaker Richard Linklater and the stars of his “Before” trilogy (Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke) in anticipation of the third installment, Before Midnight. Then on June 10th at 7:30pm, Sofia Coppola will stop by to talk about her upcoming film The Bling Ring.

The Summer Talks will also host the filmmakers behind the most buzzed-about films of Sundance, most notably director Ryan Coogler on July 11th at 6pm for his Grand Jury and Audience Award winner Fruitvale Station and director David Lowery for his Grand Jury Prize nominated film Ain’t Them Bodies Saints.

Not all the dates are confirmed yet so stop back here to see when they update the schedule. All of the discussions are free and open to the public, so that means you can ask them yourself whether any of the films will be making their way to the Collection!
