Film Society Of Lincoln Center Hosting Special Screening Of ‘Gates Of Heaven’ Tuesday Night

Sometimes, the Big Apple just knows how the hell to prove that moniker correct.

Tonight, in continuation of their series ’50 Years Of NYFF,’ the Film Society Of Lincoln Center will see a truly special screening of Errol Morris’ masterwork, ‘˜Gates of Heaven,’ with the beloved documentarian in attendance.

Now, the series itself has seen a cavalcade of great films come through, and will only see more in the future, ranging from this oft-rumored Criterion release, to the Catherine Deneuve-starring film, ‘˜The Last Metro,’ which screens on the 21st. Previous films on this series include ‘˜The Exterminating Angel,’ ‘˜Fists In The Pocket,’ ‘˜The Battle Of Algiers,’ ‘˜2 or 3 Things I Know About Her,’ ‘˜Kes’ and ‘˜Ali: Fear Eats The Soul.’

The screening takes place at 6:15 pm est tonight, so time is running out, but hopefully we’ll be hearing a bit more about the recently rumored Criterion release of this, and a few other Morris films during the Q&A tonight.   We’ll keep you posted if that indeed takes place.

For more information on this series, head over to the society’s web page.
