First Clip From Indie Darling Ginger & Rosa Lands

With Oscar season in full swing, one indie picture that’s gathering quite a bit of steam comes to us from director Sally Potter, and is looking to give star Elle Fanning a push right into Best Actress contention.

Entitled Ginger & Rosa, the film has been playing the festival circuit to rave reviews, and thankfully we have finally gotten to see a clip from the film (via The Playlist), and it looks superb.

Ginger & Rosa follows the story of two teen girls and their relationship with one another during the 1960s. A24 has the rights to the film, and while a release date isn’t set yet in stone, one would have to imagine that an Oscar run is in its future. Fanning (as well as co-star Alice Englert) are the film’s biggest draws, particularly the former who has been garnering large amounts of love from the indie journalist crowd for her performance.  She looks great here, so hopefully she’ll find some love from The Academy.
