First Look At Olivier Assayas’ Something In The Air

With his last two features, Summer Hours and Carlos both making their way into   the Criterion Collection, director Olivier Assayas has apparently become something of a darling in the Criterion offices. And with a new film on the way (debuting in Venice) and already at home with IFC Films, he may very well have a third entrant hit later this year.

Palace Films (via The Playlist) has the first look at Assayas’ next film, Something In The Air, and it looks fantastic. Starring Clement Metayer, the film follows the story of a Parisian high school student during the 1970s, and looks at the political landscape of that time period. Co-starring Lola Creton, the film will be bowing during the Venice Film Festival in a matter of weeks, and I can’t wait to see what Assayas has in store for us here. He’s been on an absolute roll as of late, crafting some of the very best films of the past few years, and of his career as a whole. This will hopefully be no different.
