Guillermo del Toro To Attempt Getting At The Mountains Of Madness Off The Ground One Last Time

guillermoframed

Destined to be one of the greatest films never to see the light of day, Guillermo del Toro has a far different view on what his long talked about adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s At The Mountains Of Madness, even if it has yet to get off the ground.

The director sat down with The Playlist and revealed that he’s going to, one last time, attempt to get the film off the ground. He said that he was going to pitch the film at the start of this year, and that, interesting enough, star Tom Cruise is still very much attached to the project, and that he’s an “ally of the project.”

Hopefully, while it has yet to be proven that it works with regards to this film, Cruise’s strength will finally push this film over the edge. It has become one of the most talked about films that hasn’t even come close to being produced, and it’s upsetting. The mixture of perfect director and perfect start make this a really sad project to see fall by the wayside. Hopefully, with this last push, we’ll be able to see del Toro’s vision come truly to life. Fingers are crossed.
