House Contest Winners Announced

This past Tuesday saw the culmination of a years worth of coverage here on CriterionCast.com: the Criterion release of Nobuhiko Obayashi’s House, on DVD and Blu-ray. It is truly one of the most important, and unique releases that Criterion has let loose on the cinephiles of the world, and we’ll be discussing it on our next podcast episode, with a very special guest.

This summer we helped pass out some decals, with the orange cat face that has been so prominently displayed on the posters, shirts, and covers of House. To help promote the release, we held a contest in which we asked our readers and listeners to either use the physical decal, or a digital version of it, in a unique way, and send it to us.

As people sent in their entries, we posted them on our Facebook page, showing them off to our friends and fans, getting feedback, helping shape the future entries. We didn’t place any restrictions on the number of entries, so several people sent in multiple images, getting better with each one.

We were only giving away 5 copies of either the DVD or the Blu-ray, so it was certainly a challenge picking the winners. Below you’ll find our five favorites. The winners should be receiving their copies of the House Criterion disc soon.

I want to thank everyone that took the time to enter our contest, every image we received was a piece of art. If we could have rewarded everyone, I would have.

If you’d like to see all of the entries, head over to Facebook and add us as a friend, to see our photo album.
