Long Trailer For Francis Ford Coppola’s Twixt Released

If there was one name that took this year’s San Diego Comic-Con by storm, it wasn’t any name related to the world of comic books or big summer tentpole pictures, but one rooted deep within the world of film.

Bringing his latest film, Twixt, to this year’s Con, Francis Ford Coppola had the web all a buzz with his latest picture, and for a cavalcade of reasons.   Not only did the footage itself become some of the most polarizing footage shown at the convention this year, but with Coppola’s announcement that a special road show may be in the works, this film became the belle of the ball.   Coppola revealed that he plans on bringing the film to various cities, where he’ll cut the film and its Dan Deacon-penned soundtrack as if he was a DJ playing to a crowd.   The crowd loves longer cuts? He’ll make the shots longer.   Want something more staccato? He can do it.

However, as mentioned above, the footage shown was something of a polarizing bit of material.   And now, it’s our chance to see it.   A long trailer for the film has been released, and while a few moments of it does look a bit odd, I personally adore it.   I think the film’s style is really fantastic, and with a great cast like the one assembled here, this is definitely a film to keep a keen eye on.   People may not like Coppola’s recent output, but as a fan of both Youth Without Youth and Tetro, if this is half as inventive as those two, we are in for something special.
