Lynne Ramsay Finds Financing For Her Sci-Fi Flick Mobius

Talk about a change of pace.

THR reports that director Lynne Ramsay (Ratcatcher) has finally found financing for her sci-fi project Mobius. Drawing comparisons to something like ‘Moby Dick,’ the filmmaker has revealed that the film draws a lot of inspiration from the beloved novel, also drawing comparisons to a film like Das Boot, as it will take place primarily on one ship. It will find a ship’s crew, in space, who must take on an alien race. Color this writer intrigued.

The film is penned by Ramsay and Rory Kinnear, and is easily one of the director’s most intriguing projects she is currently working on, even including her long talked about Western, Jane Got A Gun, starring both Natalie Portman and Michael Fassbender. The idea of seeing just what this type of director can do with a massive sounding sci-fi action film is so interesting. Far from a prolific filmmaker, the fact that she has multiple films being worked on at this moment may even be more thrilling. More on this as it comes.
