MTV Orders New Animated Series From David Gordon Green

The animated series titled “Good Vibes” is being courted by MTV. A deal is close to bring the animated series to the cable network. MTV is making the animated series a top priority by teaming it with David Janollari, a vetern of script development. David Gordon Green is credited as Executive Producer on the project.

“Good Vibes” was given a pilot order by FOX in 2008 but was not picked up by the network. It seems it is a good fit on MTV.

The voice cast consist of the usual David Gordon Green players such as Adam Brody, Alan Tudyk, Danny McBride, Debi Mazar, Jake Busey, Josh Gad and Olivia Thirlby.

The pilot made in 2008 was centered around two surfer dudes, Mondo and Woodie, living in southern California striving to become the greatest surfers in California, while one of them tries to win the affections of Jeena voiced by Olivia Thirlby. This story being told by an old surfer dude through narration. Think “Sit Down, Shut Up” and “Arrested Development” meets “Pineapple Express”.

Who would’ve thought the writer/director of George Washington (Criterion Collection 152#) would find success on the big screen and the small?
