New Trailer Arrives For The Festival Darling Ain’t Them Bodies Saints

aintthembodiesframed

With most eyes point, at the end of last week, directly on France and the final days of this year’s Cannes Film Festival, a new trailer for the pending IFC picture and festival darling Ain’t Them Bodies Saints arrived late last week, and it’s one that is still hard to turn off.

Starring Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara, the film follows the story of an outlaw couple on a spree, who are “finally apprehended by lawmen after a shootout in the Texas Hills.” When Affleck’s character, Bob, escapes prison four years later, he goes on the hunt for his woman and their daughter. Sounding very much inspired by a film like Malick’s Badlands (almost so obvious I hesitate to even mention it here), the film has garnered a great deal of praise following a debut at Sundance this year, and remains one of this year’s more intriguing independent pictures. This trailer is an absolute doozy, and with a cavalcade of reviews proclaiming it as one of the year’s best films, it’s hard not to anxiously anticipate its August 16 debut.
