New Trailer For Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master Arrives And Impresses

Guys and gals, I think October 12 may very well be the apex of our cinematic civilization.

The release date set for the new Paul Thomas Anderson film, The Master, the film has seen a brand new trailer arrive, and while the first brilliant teaser may have had some sort of meta commentary with star Joaquin Phoenix both acting in character and seemingly atoning for his past transgressions, this just looks bloody brilliant.

Giving us our first good look at both Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams, the trailer is a 90 second tour-de-force with a stunning combo of PTA’s mind melting filmmaking and Jonny Greenwoods nails-on-chalkboard-but-in-the-absolute-best-kind-of-way score. Personally, this may very well be one of the most anticipated films I’ve ever encountered. PTA’s There Will Be Blood was this writer’s favorite film of the past decade, and arguably even longer. Easily one of the best living filmmakers, this film can’t get here fast enough.
