New Trailer For Wong Kar-Wai’s The Grandmaster Hits As It Starts Rolling Out Worldwide

grandmasters_framed

As rumors of a potential sequel make fire on the internet, a new trailer has arrived for the upcoming Wong Kar-Wai feature film, The Grandmaster, and it’s yet another beautiful look at a film that has left film nuts waiting for seemingly years now.

Featuring only a smattering of new footage, the trailer is primarily just a rehashing of the same footage we’ve seen for a few months now, but it’s a perfect way to get the appetite up and going for this long talked about project.

Allegedly, the film has been cut by 15 minutes after its Asian premiere, and while that doesn’t totally mean anything negative (particularly since early buzz has been rather over the moon), it is interesting to see this trailer arrive after that edit. Now, it still doesn’t have a domestic release date, but with more and more people seeing the film (it screens for European press this week), that shouldn’t be the case for much longer. It will also hit this year’s Berlin Film Festival, so this won’t be the last we hear of this project.
