New Trailer Hits For Steven Soderbergh’s Behind The Candelabra

While this may not be the last we see of director Steven Soderbergh (particularly after the reveal of his pending adaptation of The Sot-Weed Factor), this film is no less intriguing.

A new trailer has arrived for Soderbergh’s upcoming film, Behind The Candelabra, and it’s a winner.

The Liberace biopic has been long billed as Soderbergh’s final feature film, and stars Michael Douglass and Matt Damon as Liberace and his lover Scott Thornson. This trailer itself hints at Soderbergh bringing his patented aesthetic to the small screen, but this time with a film that allows for the director to toy with a much more over the top universe.

Also hinting at a film with a much darker core than is posited by the first half of the spot, the trailer focuses on the film’s absolutely killer cast, which includes Rob Lowe, Dan Aykroyd and even Debbie Reynolds. Personally, I can’t wait to see this film. A Cannes debut is very much in the cards here, and with a  debut on May 26 via HBO, this will definitely be one of this year’s more talked about feature films.
