While Lars von Trier may not be making Cannes this year, a Criterion favorite may be hitting the festival this year with an equally exciting project.

Sentieri Selvaggi has revealed a photo and the first poster from the upcoming Abdellatif Kechiche-directed Lea Seydoux vehicle, Blue Is The Warmest Color.

Best known for his film The Secret Of The Grain, the film follows the story of a young woman (Adele Exarchopoulos) who falls for a blue haired woman and the struggle that that relationship proves to be.

As a huge fan of Kechiche’s work and of Seydoux as an actress, I think this project sounds thrilling. I love this photo and the gorgeous poster that comes along with it, and the premise itself sounds really intriguing. Could a Cannes release be in the works? The idea of getting material this early makes it seem likely, but a late festival run could also be in store. However, it’s hard to not hope to be able to see this as soon as humanly possible.
