Scott Cooper’s Out Of The Furnace Gets A Release Date

furnaceframed

Ever since his debut film, Crazy Heart, director Scott Cooper’s second film has been one of the most talked about projects scheduled for this year. And now, we know when we’ll actually be able to see the damn thing.

Relativity has given the film an October 4 release date, and with a cast including Christian Bale, Casey Affleck, Zoe Saldana, Woody Harrelson and Zoe Saldana, the film is primed and ready for a big time fall awards season push.

The film will follow two brothers stuck in a criminal web, and features a score from Alberto Iglesias and is even getting a new collection of songs from Eddie Vedder. Personally, while I originally wasn’t huge on Cooper’s debut, further viewings and some time away from the film have proven it to be quite an assured and moving debut film from a director far beyond his years. With a few great actors aboard the cast, this feels like it has the makings of something really special.
