Shane Carruth’s Score For Upstream Color Available Online

Very few filmmakers are quite as hands on with their projects as one Shane Carruth. With his latest film, Upstream Color, making waves at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and eyeing a second festival run at SXSW this March (followed by a theatrical run on April 5and a home video release on May 7), the picture’s score has now been made available online. And it’s a doozy.

Composed by Carruth (who also wrote, directed, produced, edited, shot and starred in the film), the score is a really stunning one that fits the tone of the film, or at least of the stuff most of us have seen, perfectly.

The score is available to purchase via the film’s official website, and comes in a special bundle with a vinyl copy, digital copy, a copy of the poster and even a copy of Henry David Thoreau’s “Walden,” making this writer wonder just what Carruth has in store for his film if he’s bundling that book in with material for his picture. We will definitely have more from this film when it screens at SXSW in March, so expect much more soon.
