Steven Spielberg To Lead Jury For This Year’s Cannes Film Festival

Cannes_festivalFRAMED

If there is one director who deserves a bit of a break, it’s Steven Spielberg.

After working at arguably his fastest rate at any point in his career over the last few years, Spielberg has decided to take some time off, and do something drastically different, returning to a place that once helped get him on the map.

The director is now set to be the jury president for this year’s Cannes Film Festival, returning to a festival that once showed films like Sugarland Express and E.T. He’ll be joined by Jane Campion, president of the Cinefondation and the Short Film Jury.

The festival is set to start on May 15 and run until May 26 and with the former Cannes winner for Best Screenplay (the aforementioned Sugarland Express) set to return, this jury just got one hell of a president.
