TCM Reveals Lineup For This Summer’s Essentials Jr. Series

TCM

If there is one part to every summer that never quite gets the publicity it truly deserves, it’s TCM’s summer series known as The Essentials Jr.

TCM has just announced that not only will host Bill Hader return to lead the series, but starting on June 2, the series will commence with a showing of the classic film The Court Jester.

Every Sunday evening, TCM will screen a classic film for the whole family to enjoy, ranging from the series starting Jester to the legendary French comedy Mon Oncle. In the meantime, the series will highlight films like To Kill A Mockingbird, A Tree Grows In Brooklyn only to end the run with It Happened One Night.

This will be Hader’s third year as host of the series, and for fans of classic cinema looking to spark an interest in cinema in their kids or simply looking for a way to bond with one another, this is as great a series as TCM offers. While these films may not be all that hard to find, they are perfect for re-watches or for first time viewings with the whole family.
