Tidbits: As A Poster For Spielberg’s Lincoln Hits, Kino Announces A Blu-ray Of D.W. Griffith’s Abraham Lincoln

While much of the film world seems to be enamored with the latest film from Paul Thomas Anderson, as it continues to make the rounds at various special advance screenings around the country (including this writer himself, calling it the best American film in years), one fall 2012 release seems to be getting routinely over-looked.

A new one-sheet for the upcoming Steven Spielberg film, Lincoln, has been released, and while it’s a straightforward poster, it’s a stern reminder that while it may not play any festivals this year, there is one giant film, and one towering performance from Daniel Day-Lewis that is hell bent on making this an interesting awards season.

Now, however, come November, it won’t be the only Lincoln film being talked about. Kino Lorber has just announced that they will, on November 13 (just four days after Spielberg hits with his film), be releasing a new Blu-ray of D.W. Griffith’s classic Abraham Lincoln. This will be the first time the film has been remastered in HD, so this is definitely one of November’s most intriguing home video releases. Also coming in November from Kino? Here’s their lineup:
