Tidbits: Joel Kinnaman Boards Malick’s Knight Of Cups As British TV Aims To Remake The Lady Vanishes

While his work on TV’s The Killing may have been for naught, as the show was recently canned by AMC (unjustly, this writer firmly believes), but actor Joel Kinnamin is having one hell of a career.

With a star-making turn in Daniel Espinosa’s Snabba Cash, the actor has gone on to work on films like Safe House and ultimately the lead in the pending Robocop remake, he may have nabbed his most intriguing role yet. According to the Swedish outlet SVD (via The Film Stage) that he’s joined the cast of Terrence Malick’s upcoming Knight Of Cups. He joins Christian Bale, Cate Blanchett, Freida Pinto and many others in yet another Malick film that he’s hard at work on. This is a huge role for the young actor who is proving to be a really great young thespian, so under the watchful eye of Malick, this may be a really solid turn for the actor.

In other news, Deadline reports that the BBC is looking to bring a remake of Hitchcock’s The Lady Vanishes to the small screen. Fiona Seres is writing the project based on the book ‘The Wheel Spins,’ so there appears to be quite a bit of love behind this project. Toss in the fact that we currently await two different Hitchcock biopics on the big screen, and the recent Criterion Blu-ray upgrade of this very film, and it has been one hell of a year or so in the life of Hitchcock’s career. Oh yeah, and there is a little box set coming out later this year of 15 of Hitch’s films on Blu-ray, and one of his works has recently been named the greatest film ever.
