Todd Haynes To Helm Carol

haynesframed

While he’s been far from silent since his last feature film, the breathtaking masterwork that was I’m Not There, Todd Haynes has finally found the film he’ll bring to the big screen next.

Following the fantastic miniseries Mildred Pierce, Haynes will be directing a new project entitled Carol, and it definitely has a lot going for it.

Screen Daily has the scoop about the pending film, which will team Haynes up once again with one of his former Bob Dylans, Cate Blanchett, as well as Mia Wasikowska in a film based on Patricia Highsmith’s novel following a wife and younger department store worker in the 1950s. I’m not too familiar with the novel, but I’m more than familiar with Haynes work as a director, and based upon that, I could not be looking forward to this picture more. He’s one of my favorite directors, and this has as great a pair of leads as you could dream up.
