Trailer Arrives For Cannes Bound La Grande Bellezza

bellezzaframed

It’s hard to imagine, but this year’s Cannes Film Festival is just a handful of days away, and as we are nearing the May 15 start date, more and more films are slowly seeing trailers released in honor of their entry into the festival.

The latest film to see a trailer a trailer arrive is the new film from none other than Il Divo auteur Paolo Sorrentino. Entitled La Grande Bellazza, the film will play in competition at the upcoming festival, and follows the story of a writer looking to return to highlights of his younger days.

Personally, while I wasn’t hot on Sorrentino’s last film, This Must Be The Place, finding it to be easily one of the weakest films I saw back in Cannes in 2011. Divo is a truly great film, so while his batting average may be at a solid .500, this looks to be an interesting change of pace for a director that could see him return to his roots. I love this trailer, and find the aesthetic to be really quite interesting. No distributor has been tapped yet for this part of the world, but hopes are really quite high.
