Trailer Arrives For Costa-Gavras’ Capital

Hot off the heels of getting picked up by the team of Cohen Media Group (the same guys behind films like Frozen River and The Lady), the first trailer for the upcoming Costa-Gavras film Capital has been released, and with its premiere at this year’s TIFF proceedings looming, this is aiming to be one of 2012’s most interesting art house releases.

The film stars the likes of Gabriel Byrne, Gad Elmaleh and Natacha Regnier, and is based off of Stephane Osmont’s novel focusing on the financial state of France.

Now, no release date stateside has been announced, but with buzz obviously being as high as any film heading up north this year, don’t expect that to stay the same for very long. Gavras is one of the foreign film world’s most iconic filmmakers, and this trailer proves that he hasn’t lost a single step. It looks absolutely fantastic, blending Gravas’ style with a thriller premise that looks just about as great as anything around. This year is shaping up to be one hell of a 12 months for film, especially with someone like Costa-Gavras involved in it.
