Trailer Arrives For Oz The Great And Powerful

Well folks, Comic-Con is here, and as our faithful leader here at The CriterionCast makes his way around a packed San Diego, we at home aren’t completely out of the loop. Disney, following their recent panel at the year’s biggest entertainment convention, has released the first teaser for their much anticipated film Oz The Great And Powerful. And with Sam Raimi at the helm, this is definitely not your father’s Oz.

The film, as mentioned above, is directed by Raimi, and with stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Michelle Williams and Rachel Weiz aboard, this project definitely has an intriguing pedigree. A prequel of sorts, the film follows a magician who is sent to Oz only to run into the three witches.

Led by this great cast and crew, and featuring an intriguing premise, this may seem like an unnecessary prequel, but the trailer definitely looks interesting. The film looks absolutely gorgeous, with candy colored cinematography while in Oz, and beautiful black and white photography back in the real world. It is a film that not many people have really asked for, but then again, this trailer has left us all wanting much, much more.
