Trailer For Steve McQueen’s Shame Arrives

Having played the majority of this year’s fall film festivals, one of the late 2011 films that have gotten the most hype has been Steve McQueen’s latest work, Shame.

Starring his Hunger lead, Michael Fassbender, the film has been described as controversial and challenging, as it tells the story of a man who must deal with his sex addiction, after his sister comes to stay in his house.

While many have not seen it, and many won’t have the chance barring any change in philosophy from theaters with regards to an NC-17 picture, the Fox Searchlight release has finally had a trailer released, and its top notch.

The trailer itself does give an interesting look into what the film will feature, and having read the script, I can safely say that it’s actually a lot more telling than one could expect.   The film, at least on the page, plays like a Crash-era Cronenberg film, and for that, I could not at all be more excited.   And this trailer itself is one hell of a beauty.

What do you think?

  • Steve McQueen is hotter than a steel factory weld. If this is half the film Hunger was look out. Having Michael Fassbinder and Carey Mulligan as leads is brilliant. My gut says the future bodes well for this film if you have what it takes to absorb its girth. Is there anything Fassbinder can’t handle? His roles in Fish Tank and Centurion should serve as indicators of his range of breadth and capability. As a member of the court in the kingdom of the blind I’d give this a eye popping arrow pointed up.
