Trailer Hits For Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained

Well, it’s finally here. Our first look at Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, and it’s one hell of a trailer.

That’s right, the first trailer for the film has hit, and it’s a doozy. The film stars Jamie Foxx as the titular character, a freed slave who tries to hunt down his wife, and the man who is holding her, slave owner Calvin Candie, played by Leonardo DiCaprio. He is joined in his efforts by a bounter hunter, played by Christoph Waltz, in what can best be described as Tarantino’s blending of Spaghetti Western aesthetic and revenge narrative.

Personally, while I’ve had the chance to read the script, which is an absolute winner, the entire thing comes alive in Taratino’s directorial hands. Ten minutes from the film screened at Cannes this year, to massive praise, even finding one Don Johnson as the focus of a lot of the hype. Overall, the film looks like a Tarantino film, smells like a Tarantino film and sounds like a Tarantino film. It’s damn good to have that back in the film world.
