Trailer Hits For The Pending Domestic Release Of Studio Ghibli’s From Up On Poppy Hill

While the likes of Pixar have become known as the greatest animation studio on the planet, Studio Ghibli has given them a big time run for their money.

The house that Miyazaki built is set to team back up with GKids to release their latest film, From Up On Poppy Hill stateside, and in promotion of that release a stunning new trailer has arrived for the picture.

Directed by Goro Miyazaki, the film is based on a Japanese comic book and follows the story of two teens in 1960’s Japan who fall in love. Featuring an absolutely killer voice cast ranging from Aubrey Plaza to Ron Howard, the film is visually breathtaking, and, as one would expect from the studio, looks like yet another emotionally moving motion picture.

Co-written by Hayao Miyazaki, the film will be hitting in limited release on March 15th with a roll out following, and this is one picture I can’t wait to check out. I love Ghibli’s output and this looks to be yet another moving piece of visual art from the best animation team on the planet.
