Watch A 90 Minute Conversation With Director David Cronenberg

It’s not rare to see short interviews with filmmakers pop up daily on the internet. However, when one of the greatest filmmakers of his or her generation sits down for any length of time, let alone 90 whole minutes, it’s truly something special.

That’s what has happened here, as thanks to the German series Kennwort Kino (hat tip to The Playlist and MCN), we have the chance to watch a 90 minute interview with director David Cronenberg. And it’s quite a doozy.

Shot during last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, the interview spans the director’s career up to that point, including films like Shivers all the way up to his great film Cosmopolis. Toss in discussions about his career as a whole and his inspirations, and you have one of the most interesting and important videos you’ll watch all week. Fans of the director will find more than their fair share of information to mine here, and it’s thrilling to see the auteur’s mind picked for over an hour.
