It’s apparently true that director Woody Allen truly can’t find time to take a break.
The auteur’s next film, starring Cate Blanchett, Alec Baldwin, Bobby Cannavale, Louis C.K. and Andrew Dice Clay (amongst many others) and thanks to Sony Pictures Classics (who has been revealed as the film’s distributor) we know even more about his 2013 entry.
According to the press release, the film is now titled Blue Jasmine, and will follow the story of “the final stages of an acute crisis and a life of a fashionable New York housewife.” Set almost entirely in San Francisco, the film will see Allen return back stateside after a while being inspired by various foreign locations, and with Michael Stuhlbarg also now joining the cast, this picture keeps sounding better and better.
As a huge fan of much of Allen’s recent output, this film sounds absolutely fantastic. I have really high hopes for the picture, and with his latest work being of really high quality, one has to imagine that this will follow suit, especially with yet another stunning cast.
