  • rudie doesn't like THRONE OF BLOOD?! you can sit through endless joss whedon crapfests but didn't like the lack of subtext in a kurosawa film?

    ooooooooooooooh. i kid. i kid. ;)

if it makes everything better, i may be the only person on earth that would rather eat his own foot than watch BRAZIL one more time and i get shit for it alllll the damn time. different strokes to rule the world! opinions too.

  • I have a feeling that as we go through this podcast, we're going to get a lot of tongue-lashing over the various Criterion Collection films that we don't fall in love with / gush all over.

I am glad though that we can maintain some level of distance and feel comfortable in revealing those parts of the movies that we don't enjoy.

  • if you all had the same tastes, or even the same tastes as i do, the podcast wouldn't even be interesting. it would just be people sitting around talking about how awesome each movie is and we would never know that, despite all hopes to the contrary, criterion has released some stinkers. their ratio of stinkers to seven samurais is much much higher (lower? i am no mathlete.) than other companies, but it's still abounding in enough variety to make criterioncast an awesome idea.
