Abbas Kiarostami and Richard Peña Discuss The Wind Will Carry Us

On July 22nd, the Cohen Film Collection will release Abbas Kiarostami’s 1999 film, The Wind Will Carry Us on Blu-ray. Included in their 15th anniversary release of the film is a 90 minute Q&A with Kiarostami. The folks at Cohen just uploaded this clip from the discussion.

On April 7th 2014, Cohen Film Collection co-sponsored with the Indiana University Cinema in Bloomington an on-stage conversation between director Abbas Kiarostami and Richard Peña, film scholar and former program director of the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Filmmaker Adele Yaraghi acted as translator for Mr. Kiarostami.

The 90 minute conversation included an overview of Mr. Kiarostami’s work, as well as a special focus on his masterpiece THE WIND WILL CARRY US. The full conversation will be available on our Blu-ray and DVD release of THE WIND WILL CARRY US, along with a feature length audio commentary track by critic Jonathan Rosenbaum and scholar Mehrnaz Saeed-Vafa, which will be released on July 22.
