Jane Campion’s Top Of The Lake To Hit Netflix On April 16

With it currently airing on The Sundance Channel, director Jane Campion’s latest effort, the miniseries entitled Top Of The Lake is set to make its way to the king of all streaming services.

Set for a DVD release in the UK on June 24, the show will be bowing on Netflix in just a matter of weeks, hitting the service on April 16.

The show stars a top notch cast, including the likes of Elisabeth Moss, Peter Mullan, Holly Hunter, Lucy Lawless and Jay Ryan, and follows a detective looking into a missing 12-year old, a pregnant daughter of a local drug kingpin. Set in New Zealand, the mini-series has garnered comparisons to AMC’s The Killing, and other shows seemingly influenced by the recent rise of Danish noirs like Borgen.

With no domestic release at this date (at least that I can find), it remains to be seen when this will actually be available on home video, but with a Netflix date set, it shouldn’t be too far off. I know I can’t wait to check this sucker out.
