While most of the films that will be playing this year’s SXSW Film Festival have been properly announced, there are a few that are still making their way into the lineup.
They festival has announced a few new films that will be playing as part of the Festival Favorites lineup, and it’s quite the list of additions.
Leading the way here is the Steve James (Hoop Dreams) film, The Interrupters. The film joins Cindy Meehl’s Buck, Kevin Macdonald’s Life In A Day (which played Sundance as well as streamed live online and is one hell of a fantastic and awe-inspiring documentary), Asif Kapadia’s Senna and Susanne Rostock’s Sing Your Song as part of the documentary side of the new additions.
The narrative side of things is spearheaded by Miranda July’s The Future, easily one of the biggest names coming out of this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Future is joined by Sam Levinson’s Another Happy Day and Athina Rachel Tsangari’s Attenberg, making the 2011 SXSW Film Festival easily one of the most intriguing in a long time.
