America Lost And Found: The BBS Story DVD & Blu-ray Sets Currently 50% Off At Barnes And Noble

Break out those newly acquired Barnes and Noble gift cards, you now have something worth using them on! Books? Pshaw, I’m talking about Criterion box sets at 50% off!

If you follow us on Twitter, then you’re already well aware of this incredible deal on the America Lost And Found: The BBS Story Blu-ray and DVD box sets that were released recently from Criterion. Barnes and Noble is currently having a 50% off sale on select DVDs and Blu-rays, and somehow the BBS story was included. As far as I can tell, this is the only Criterion deal, but if you find another one, let us know in the comments below.

Right now you can get the DVD set for $49.99, and the Blu-ray set for $62.49. But wait, there are more deals to be had. In searching around online, I came   across the coupon code C3N8F7W, which takes an additional percentage off, knocking the Blu-ray set to an incredibly cheap $53.11. Since I don’t have a B&N membership, I didn’t try to see if one could get even more discounts on it, but usually Barnes and Noble is nice about combining discounts.

At this price, you can’t go wrong. The BBS set is easily one of the most important releases from Criterion in 2010, and it’ll be hard for them to top in 2011 (but I’m happy to see them try). If you want to hear more about the set, head over to the bonus episode that I recorded with Moises Chiullan and West Anthony, in which we discuss the Blu-ray set in detail.

From all of us at the Criterion Cast, we wish you a happy, safe, and warm holiday weekend, and we’ll see you on Monday with all kinds of new content, and exciting film festival announcements!

[Update: I forgot to mention that I’m not quite sure when this sale ends. The sets have a little “50% off sale” logo on them, which when you click on, shows you that the sale ends on New Years. I’m not sure if this means these box sets will be on sale until then. Amazon will occasionally put things on sale for a very short period of time, and end the sale without notice, so if you’ve been waiting to buy this set, now is the time to jump on it.]
