SXSW 2013 Preview: Xan Cassavetes’ Kiss Of The Damned

KOTDframed

Vampire films come and go in this day and age, but very few have a directorial pedigree as intriguing as Kiss Of The Damned.

The upcoming SXSW-bound thriller comes to us from director Xan Cassavetes, daughter of the iconic John Cassavetes, stars Josephine de La Baume as a vampire who is at first hesitant to get into a romance with a writer (Milo Ventimiglia) but ultimately goes into his arm only to have her world thrown upside down when her sister arrives.

A member of the festival’s midnight lineup, it’s hard to figure out what to truly expect from this film, but thanks to a bevy of photos, we at least get a hint as to what the style will be like. Cassavetes obviously comes from one hell of a legendary family, and with Magnet firmly behind the film (it hits VOD on March 28 with a theatrical run on May 3) this is definitely one interesting thriller heading down to Austin this March.

The film screens once during the festival, on Friday March 15 at 11:45pm EST.
