Actor Michael Clarke Duncan Dies At Age 54

The film world has truly lost a giant, as actor Michael Clarke Duncan (The Green Mile, Armageddon) has died at the age of 54 according to a family representative.

The actor had suffered a heart attack back on July 13, and the actor was never able to fully recover. He passed in an LA hospital on Monday.

Best known for roles in films like The Green Mile, Criterion Collection fans may best remember him as the loveable juggernaut in Armageddon, one of his most lovely and memorable performances. Always seen with as big a smile on his face as the muscles on his arms, Duncan was one of the most recognizable and lovable actors working in Hollywood.   An Oscar nominated thespian, Duncan was always more than just a brute however. With an immense level of charisma, the actor was able to be brooding as ‘the heavy’ in some films, and in others as thoughtful and plaintive as they get.

He will be sorely missed.
