Ben Wheatley Teaming With HBO For A New Project

wheatleyframed

Now this is just getting silly.

With the films Freakshift, I Macrobane, Two For Hell and Mega Evil Motherfuckers all on the docket (as well as the still unreleased domestically Sightseers and A Field In England, director Ben Wheatley has become as prolific a director as there is today. And he isn’t done yet.

THR reports that he’s teaming with HBO for a new thriller series entitled Silk Road, which he will pen and direct (as well as executive produce). Other details aren’t known as of yet, other than that the likes of Laeta Kalogridis, James Vanderbilt and Bradley J. Fischer will also help bring this project to the screen.

As a huge fan of Wheatley’s work, this is a show I can’t wait to check out. HBO has become the home for true artists to try and hone their craft, and this should be right up the director’s alley. One of today’s most interesting genre voices, this should be yet another class-A series on HBO’s ever growing docket of must watch shows.
