Benicio Del Toro To Helm One Of Seven Parts Of 7 Days In Havana

What better way to start a directing career than being part of an omnibus project with the likes of Gaspar Noe and Laurent Canet.

According to Variety, that is where actor Benicio Del Toro finds himself now, as the outlet s reporting that he is set to helm one of seven segments in a new omnibus film, entitled 7 Days In Havana.   Joining him will be Cantet, Noe, Pablo Trapero, Elia Suleiman, Julio Medem and Carlos Tabo.

Producer Didar Domehri says that ‘this is one connected and collective film.   Each director shoots one episode, which takes place from morning to night.’ Sounds great to me.

Personally, I’m massively interested in this project.   Del Toro has the makings of a great filmmaker, particularly knowing what type of gifted filmmakers he’s been able to work with throughout his career.   Havana is a perfect setting for one of these films, so hopefully this one can live up to the hype.
