Casting: Michelle Williams Leads Joshua Marston’s Next, Joel Edgerton Joins Jane Got A Gun

Apparently director Joshua Marston isn’t going to be taking much of a break in between his last, and next, feature.

With his latest, The Forgiveness Of Blood, still fresh in people’s minds after hitting Criterion earlier this year, the director isn’t taking much time off. The Wrap reports that actress Michelle Williams will lead his next film, entitled The Double Hour. Marston penned the film and is teaming with Fox Searchlight for the film, which is itself a remake of Giuseppe Capotondi’s 2009 film, La Doppia Ora.

Personally, I love this news. Williams is a brilliant actress, having been Oscar nominated three times in her relatively short career, and adds a lot to this already intriguing sounding project. Marston is a fantastic filmmaker, and while I have my reservations about his last picture, this sounds like something that he and Williams could make something truly special out of.

In other casting news, Joel Edgerton has joined Michael Fassbender and Natalie Portman in Lynne Ramsay’s next film, Jane Got A Gun. The film, a Western, is set to be one of next year’s most anticipated films, and with Edgerton’s stock firmly on the rise, this choice seems absolutely fantastic. Color me excited.
