Curzon Soho Theater Hosting Cronos Screening With Introduction From Guillermo Del Toro

With the announcement of Guillermo Del Toro’s Cronos finally hitting the Criterion Collection come December, screenings of the film are already getting up and running.

According to Del Toro Films, Guillermo Del Toro will be introducing a screening of the film, in correlation with Curzon Midnight Movies, and the upcoming release of the Del Toro Blu-ray box set through Optimum Releasing.

The UK screening will take place at the Curzon Soho theater, and will be preceded by a Mexican inspired party, prior to the film’s midnight screening on Saturday, October 9.

Personally, while Guillermo’s later films, particularly The Devil’s Backbone, may be better, there isn’t really a much more distinctly Del Toro piece than his debut film, which to this day is still not only massively enjoyable, but a genuinely thrilling film.   It’s a fantastic piece, that is not only a welcome addition to the Collection, but a film that must be seen on the big screen, as any Del Toro film should.

If you happen to catch this screening, or know of any more taking place, please let us know.
