Despite having a rather inauspicious start to its theatrical run coming out of its debut at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, David Cronenberg’s new feature, Cosmopolis, is still one of the year’s most hotly anticipated films. And now, anticipate no longer, as we finally know when the hell we will be able to check it out.
Indiewire is reporting that the film will bow on August 17, making it just the right bit of counter-programming from the rather stacked big budget Hollywood lineup remaining this summer.
Starring Robert Pattinson, the film will definitely be unlike anything fans of his have ever witnessed, but based on reviews from Cannes, it should be just what we’ve all learned to expect from the director of the film. I was a huge fan of Cronenberg’s last work, A Dangerous Method, and the idea of him taking on a Don DeLillo book is maddeningly great. This one can’t get here fast enough.
