David Fincher Producing Jacob Aaron Estes’ IOU

While he anxiously awaits the release of his latest film, The Details (through the Weinstein Company’s VOD label Radius this fall), Mean Creek director Jacob Aaron Estes hasn’t only grabbed himself a new project, but one hell of a producer.

David Fincher will be producing the director’s long awaited third film, IOU, with the financers of his upcoming TV series, Netflix’s House Of Cards, Media Rights Capital behind the money side of things.   Nothing is really known about the project, other than that it’s a thriller, but honestly, Estes and Fincher are the only things that one needs to get really excited about this film.

Reviews for Details have been rather negative since Sundance 2011, but as a huge fan of Mean Creek, Estes is easily one of the most interesting filmmakers that this writer can think of. He does really great work with thrillers, and the idea of him getting Fincher’s help to produce a project, is absolutely enticing. More on this as it pops up.
