David Gordon Green Shoots Secret New Project Prince Avalanche

Well it’s not just Joss Whedon who can shoot a new project completely unseen by the masses.

While the Avengers director made the internet freak out after revealing that he shot a take on Shakespeare’s ‘˜Much Ado About Nothing’ while in post on the aforementioned world shattering superhero epic, Criterion fans have something to look forward to from one of their beloved filmmakers.

Twitch reports that David Gordon Green has shot a new film, entitled Prince Avalanche, a remake of the Icelandic film, Either Way. Directed by Hafsteinn Gunnar Sigurosson, the film follows two men who must team together to survive in the wilderness. Green’s film stars Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch, and apparently it already shot last month down in Green’s beloved Austin, Texas.

Personally, while I’ve been rather vocal in my disapproval of Green’s most recent work, this is just the type of film that he needs to restart his career.   This sounds small, intimate and most importantly just like the type of film he’d shoot during his early portion of his career, pre-Pineapple Express. What do you think?
